Technical Background: |

Human face recognition is the most natural method for biological recognition, which operates in a similar manner to how human beings recognize others by their faces.
The capability of face recognition is restricted by many environmental conditions such as the variation of light, expression, age and accessories, among which light variants are the most crucial influencing factor. The traditional face recognition method is based on the face image under the visible light. When the environmental light changes, the effect of recognition drops dramatically so that it cannot meet the practical needs. The capability to adapt and control the outside lighting environment is the key technological bottleneck that restricted the spread of human face recognition technology.
After a long period of research, AuthenMetric largely improved the performance of the face recognition under visible light and at the same time integrated it with RFID technology , launching a rapid face and identity recognition system to deal with the recognition of a large groups of people. |

AuthenMetric’s rapid face recognition system adopts globally-advanced technology, whose light ratio is 1:1. It is integrated with RFID intelligent card creating accurate, rapid, efficient human face and identity recognition.
This system uses face images under the normal light to carry out identity recognition. The registered image can be a digital identity photograph (like the one on the 2nd ID), or gathered by video camera. The camera installed in the front of the system is 0.5-10 meters away from the human face and adjustable to the environmental light.

Sketch of system framework
The system consists of four components: surveillance cameras, LCD display unit, video server, database server (distributed Database), and an RFID reading unit.
1. Video camera and LCD display unit
Video camera is connected with video server, acquiring facial images coming through the passages. LCD displays the recorded images and their status providing users with a friendly, convenient man-to-machine interface.
2. video server
Placed in the annex of the passage or access gates, video server is used for face verification, output control signals. It is connected with the corresponding passage cameras and LCD. The server receives real-time face data collected by corresponding passage cameras and compare them with pre-registered name list.
3. Database server
Database server is used for managing the staff information, distributing data, customizing VIP or blacklist information, giving an alarm, keeping all registered human face data and other information, recording related business information, and management activities as well as generating various customized statements, VIP or blacklist information form and set an alarm.
4 RFID reading unit
It is placed at the front of the gate for reading video card information. It picks the face data and other information out of the card to realize the comparison with the face acquired on the spot and the identity verification.? RFID reading unit supports long-distance and short distance models such as EM, M1, TI and etc.

Working flow: |

1.Swiping the card: When users go through the passage, system obtains their identity through RFID reading unit and brings up the registered face data.
2.Image acquisition: When swiping the card, users need to look at LCD screen for 1 second, the system will acquire the face image automatically and extract face features.
3.Identity checking: The system rapidly compares the acquired face data on the spot with the registered one to check the identity. The process lasts less than 1 second.
4.Access: Users can go through when they pass the checking. If not they will be rejected.
